Between the uncertainty in the current US economy and worldwide volatility in the stock and commodity markets, traders should look to gain exposure in the metals. Silver specifically, over the past few trading days has made a few nice jumps higher. As of now, silver has already traded between 34.42 and 36.14 today. We haven’t seen silver prices this high in years. As in the years past, the metals can be used as a safe haven during times of uncertainty - which we are currently managing through. With constant changes to government policy and positions, investors need to adjust their strategies. 

Gold has also gained steamed trading above 3400.00 today. Gold has been something to watch for months and has been an indicator for where investors see the financial global outlook. With the current disconnect between the Fed and President Trump, the metals will be something to have exposure in, but should be monitored closely due to constant adjustments being made to trade deals. 

Silver and gold are still historically pretty low compared to other times similar to these in history. After coming off a booming stock market for years, if there is more of a correction that takes place later this year, the metals have plenty of more upside from here. Traders can look at buying futures in the metals, longer term options to gain exposure to upside price potential or buying physical silver and gold at these levels. 

The summer months could be telling on how the second of the year takes shape. August is always an interesting trading month as well. Investors should keep a close eye on the equities and trade deals to decide what positions to take in the metals.
