Cotton Lower Again on Tuesday

Cotton futures saw losses of 29 to 37 points in the front months on Tuesday after overnight strength evaporated. Chinese trade reps are still heading to DC this week. The Monday afternoon Crop Progress report indicated that planting progress in TX was even with the average at 16%, with GA now 8 points faster than normal at 23%. The weekly Average World Price (AWP) is 68.27 cents/lb, effective through Thursday. The Cotlook A index was down 125 points from the previous day on May 3 at 84.95 cents/lb.

May 19 Cotton closed at 72.280, down 37 points,

Jul 19 Cotton closed at 73.180, down 37 points

Oct 19 Cotton closed at 72.370, down 29 points
